Open cPanel and go to Security → SSL/TLS Certificates (SSL/TLS Status under the older navigation). If a domain shows no valid certificate, browsers will flag it "not secure" until one is issued.
Reading the status table
A certificate issued for example.com alone won't secure www.example.com or a subdomain unless those names are also covered.
Flashcloud auto-issues a free Let's Encrypt certificate on hosted domains, usually within about 5 minutes of DNS pointing at us, and renews it automatically before it expires. If a domain has been pointed here for longer than that and still shows no certificate, the DNS most likely isn't resolving to our servers yet.
Why a domain might show as unsecured
- DNS not pointing here yet. Certificate issuance checks that the domain resolves to this server before it can complete. If you recently changed nameservers or added an A record, give propagation more time.
- New subdomain or addon domain. Each hostname needs its own certificate coverage. A freshly added subdomain won't show as secured until the next issuance pass picks it up.
- Mixed content, not a certificate problem. If the certificate here looks valid but the browser still warns, the page is likely loading some resources (images, scripts, stylesheets) over plain
http://. That's a site-code issue, not a certificate one. - Expired and not renewed. Rare on Flashcloud since renewal is automatic, but a certificate that failed to renew (usually because DNS moved away and came back) will show as invalid until the next successful issuance.
Forcing HTTPS after the certificate is issued
A valid certificate doesn't automatically redirect visitors from http:// to https://. WordPress sites should also have their site URL set to the https:// version so internal links and redirects don't loop back to plain HTTP.
When to contact support
If a domain has pointed to Flashcloud for more than a day and SSL/TLS Certificates still shows no valid certificate, open a ticket from Support → New ticket in the portal. Our support team can look into it.
