Registering a new domain

Getting a new domain takes about a minute. We support 200+ TLDs (.com, .io, .app, .dev, country-codes like .co.uk and .de, and the long tail of newer extensions).

How to register one

  1. Sign in and go to Marketplace → Domains.
  2. Type the name you want into the search box.
  3. We'll check availability across the major TLDs and show you which are free.
  4. Click the one you want, fill in registration details, and pay.
  5. The domain is yours within a minute or two — usually instant for .com/.net/.org and most generics; a few minutes for some country-codes.

You can register multiple domains in the same checkout.

Bundle a domain with hosting

If you're ordering hosting at the same time, many of our hosting plans include a free domain for the first year (or for life, depending on the plan and current promotions). The eligible TLDs and cycles are shown on the order form when you pick a hosting plan.

To take advantage:

  1. Go to Marketplace and pick the hosting plan you want.
  2. On the order form, choose Register a new domain.
  3. Type the domain you want — if it's eligible for the free bundle, you'll see "Free with hosting" on the order summary.
  4. Complete checkout. Both the hosting and the domain register together.

For more on the free domain offer, see Free domain with hosting.

What you'll need to provide

For most TLDs, the standard registration data:

  • Registrant — name, organization (optional), address, phone, email.
  • Admin / Tech / Billing contacts — by default, same as registrant.

For TLDs with extra requirements (.us, .ca, .de, .co.uk, .eu, etc.), we'll prompt you for the additional fields right on the order form. Common ones:

  • .us — Nexus category (US citizen, US-based business, etc.).
  • .co.uk — legal type (individual, sole trader, limited company).
  • .de — German tax ID for some registrants.
  • .eu — confirmation of EU residency.

If you're not sure, the form has tooltips explaining each field. Or open a ticket and we'll help.

WHOIS privacy

Free for most TLDs and on by default when you register through us. WHOIS privacy replaces your personal contact details in the public WHOIS database with proxy contact info — so spammers can't scrape your email and address.

A few TLDs (.us, .eu, some country-codes) don't allow WHOIS privacy under their registry rules. The form will let you know if your TLD is one of those.

For more, see WHOIS privacy.

Pricing

  • Year 1 is shown on the order form as the registration price. This is what you pay today.
  • Renewals are at standard pricing (also shown). Most TLDs are similar between registration and renewal price; some discount the first year.
  • Multi-year registration — register up to 10 years upfront if you want to lock in pricing.

If your first-choice TLD is unavailable, we'll suggest alternatives — same name on different TLDs, or different names that include your search term.

What happens after registration

  • The domain shows up in Domains immediately.
  • You can edit DNS, set up email, point at hosting from the domain detail page.
  • We send a renewal reminder 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry. Auto-renew is on by default.
