Accessing your email through webmail

Webmail lets you read and send email from any browser, without setting up an email client. Useful for occasional access, traveling without your usual device, or just preferring browser-based.

How to access

Two URLs work:

Either redirects to the webmail login. Enter your full email address and password, and you're in.

If your domain isn't pointed at our hosting yet, use https://mail.your-server.flashcloud.com — your service detail page shows the exact server hostname.

Webmail clients

We provide multiple webmail clients; pick the one you like best:

  • Roundcube — the recommended choice. Modern UI, good keyboard shortcuts, plugins for additional features. The default for most accounts.
  • Horde — older, more comprehensive (calendar, tasks, address book integrated). Heavier feel.
  • SquirrelMail — bare-bones, ancient, but functional. We may not provide it on all servers; mostly historical.

Roundcube is the best fit for most users — it's fast, looks modern, and has the features you'd expect.

Features

Common webmail features all clients support:

  • Read, reply, forward.
  • Compose new email with attachments.
  • Folders — create, rename, move messages.
  • Search — by sender, subject, content.
  • Filters — set up server-side rules ("from boss@... → folder Important").
  • Address book / contacts.
  • Multiple identities — send as info@, support@, etc. from one account.

Setting Roundcube as your default

If you'd rather skip the picker and go directly to Roundcube:

  1. Visit webmail and log in.
  2. After landing in Roundcube, click SettingsPreferences.
  3. Find "Default webmail" or similar option, and set it.

Future logins skip the picker.

Sessions and security

  • Webmail sessions time out after about an hour of inactivity. Sign in again to continue.
  • Always log out when on a shared computer (Settings → Logout). Closing the browser tab doesn't always end the session immediately.
  • Enable browser autofill for the webmail URL but not for the password — typing the password is safer than relying on autofill on shared devices.

Beyond browser webmail

Webmail is fine for occasional use. For daily email, a dedicated client (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, Spark) gives:

  • Push notifications.
  • Faster compose with shortcuts.
  • Better offline support.
  • Multi-account aggregation.

See Email server settings to set up an email client. Most have auto-config for Flashcloud accounts.

Power-user note

Roundcube has plugins that add features (markdown composing, calendar, encrypted email, etc.). Some plugins are pre-installed on our setup; others can be enabled by request. Open a ticket if you need a specific Roundcube feature that's not in the default config.
