Email accounts in Meridian

Last updated

IN SHORT

In Flashcloud accounts running cPanel's Meridian theme, manage all mailboxes by selecting Email in the left sidebar. This opens an accounts table displaying email addresses, quotas, and disk usage. From there, select Manage on any row to configure forwarders, autoresponders, and filters, or click New Email Account to create a mailbox.

To view or manage mailboxes in cPanel's Meridian theme, open Email in the left sidebar, not scattered across separate icons like Classic. You land on an accounts table showing every mailbox on the domain: address, storage used against quota, and a menu of per-account actions.

The accounts table

The main Email view lists one row per mailbox: email address, disk usage, quota, and status. Each row has a Manage option for account actions.

To add a new mailbox, use the + New Email Account button above the table. See Creating email accounts on your domain for what to fill in.

If you're not sure whether Meridian is even active on your account, check the top of cPanel for a theme toggle. Meridian is opt-in, and Classic cPanel remains available if you prefer the original layout.

Forwarders and autoresponders

A forwarder redirects incoming mail to one or more other addresses instead of a mailbox. For the difference between forwarders and full mailboxes, and when each makes sense, see How many email accounts can I create?.

A common pattern: keep one real mailbox like team@yourdomain.com and forward info@, sales@, and support@ into it.

Autoresponders send an automatic reply for an address, useful for out-of-office notices or acknowledging support requests. Clicking Manage on any mailbox opens its per-account page containing forwarders, autoresponder, filters, and settings. The accounts table also includes filters for All, Suspended, Has forwarders, Has autoresponders, and Near quota.

Finding classic-only email tools

Meridian's Email tab covers accounts, but Track Delivery, Global Email Filters, Email Deliverability, and BoxTrapper haven't been rebuilt into Meridian's layout yet. Use the top search (cmd+K) to jump straight to any of these by name, or switch back to Classic cPanel temporarily if you need the full original layout. For a broader map of what lives in the portal versus cPanel generally, see The portal vs cPanel, what goes where.

If a mailbox seems misconfigured

If a forwarder loops back on itself, mail bounces unexpectedly, or a filter seems to be eating messages, open a ticket from Support in the portal. Real people handle these.

Common questions

How do I add a new mailbox in Meridian?

Click the + New Email Account button located above the accounts table. This takes you directly to the creation form for your domain.

Where did Track Delivery and BoxTrapper go?

These tools have not been rebuilt into Meridian yet. Use cmd+K in the top search bar to jump to them, or switch back to Classic cPanel.

How do I set up an autoresponder or forwarder?

Click Manage on the target mailbox in the accounts table. This opens its per-account settings page, where you can configure forwarders, autoresponders, and filters.

Can I switch back to the old cPanel theme?

Yes. Check the top of cPanel for the theme toggle to return to Classic cPanel. Meridian is opt-in, so you can switch layouts whenever you prefer.
