If you've used another host before, you probably spent most of your time in cPanel. With Flashcloud, the portal is the new home for almost everything — but cPanel is still there, one click away, when you need it.
The portal handles the day-to-day
Native portal pages exist for every common task:
- Files — upload, edit, browse.
- Databases — create MySQL databases and users.
- Email — accounts, forwarders, autoresponders.
- Subdomains, addon domains, aliases — full domain management.
- WordPress — install wizard, plugin/theme management, backups, staging.
- DNS — record editor on your domain detail page.
- Cron jobs, redirects, password-protect directories, PHP version, FTP accounts, Git deploys — all native pages.
Every native page is reachable from your service detail at /services/. Click into a service and you'll see the tool tiles.
cPanel is one click away
Some things still live in cPanel — usually because they're niche enough that we haven't built a portal-native version yet, or because the cPanel tool is genuinely the right place for the job. Examples:
- SSL/TLS Status for manual certificate management (we auto-issue + auto-renew Let's Encrypt; this is for special cases like uploading a custom certificate).
- Web statistics (Awstats, Webalizer, raw access logs).
- Image manager, directory privacy (also available in the portal but cPanel has a richer UI).
To get into cPanel: go to your service in Services and click the cPanel tile. We'll sign you in automatically — no separate cPanel password to remember.
When in doubt, start in the portal
If you're trying to do something and you're not sure where it lives, start in the portal. The native pages cover 90%+ of typical needs. If you don't find what you want, the cPanel SSO link is always right there as a fallback.
What's not in either
A few things live entirely in the portal — they have no cPanel equivalent:
- Two-factor authentication for your portal account.
- Saved cards and auto-renewal (these run through Stripe, not WHMCS).
- WordPress one-click auto-login — sign into any WP site without typing the admin password.
- Domain contacts editor — registrant/admin/tech/billing contact management for OpenProvider domains.
- VPS console, snapshots, firewalls — VPS management is portal-native end-to-end.
Those exist because we built them; cPanel never had them.
