The fastest way to move off GoDaddy is to not do it yourself. Submit Free Transfer in the portal with your GoDaddy cPanel or hosting login, and a migration specialist copies your files, database, and email to Flashcloud while your GoDaddy site keeps serving visitors.
GoDaddy accounts come in a few different shapes, so the access you hand over depends on what you're on.
What to submit for a GoDaddy migration
Open Free Transfer from the sidebar and fill in your destination domain and current provider details. For GoDaddy specifically:
- cPanel hosting (Shared, Reseller, or VPS with cPanel): your cPanel URL and login. This is the cleanest path since a specialist can pull files and databases directly.
- Managed WordPress on GoDaddy: your GoDaddy account login and site name, since Managed WordPress doesn't expose a standard cPanel. Note this in the form so the specialist knows to look for it there instead.
- Website Builder sites: these aren't portable in the normal sense. Website Builder doesn't export a standard file/database structure, so there's nothing for a specialist to migrate directly. Mention this in the notes so we can talk through rebuilding the site instead, and ask about a free handcrafted website as part of your first-day setup.
Whatever the account type, put the login in the form fields, not in a public ticket note. If you'd rather not put a password in a form, open a support ticket and use its "Send a password (the safe way)" secure-share option instead.
What stays live during the move
Your GoDaddy site keeps answering visitor traffic the entire time a specialist is copying it over. Nothing goes down on your end.
If your domain is registered at GoDaddy and you're keeping it there, cutover is a nameserver change pointing at Flashcloud. If you're also moving the domain registration itself, that's a separate step from the hosting migration and doesn't need to happen at the same time.
Email on GoDaddy
If you use GoDaddy's email hosting (Microsoft 365 through GoDaddy, or GoDaddy's own webmail), decide up front whether it rides along with the transfer or moves on its own schedule. Bundling it into the same request is fine if you want one clean cutover. If you'd rather control exactly when mail switches over, mention that in the notes and handle the mailbox side separately so nothing bounces mid-move.
Don't lose money on unused GoDaddy time

Moving from Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify instead?
The Free Transfer form works the same way regardless of the "current provider" you list, but the mechanics differ because these platforms don't run on cPanel. Wix and Squarespace are closed site builders with no direct file/database export, similar to GoDaddy's Website Builder, so a migration usually means rebuilding on Flashcloud rather than copying files. Shopify sites are commerce platforms tied to Shopify's own checkout and inventory systems, which don't transfer to standard web hosting at all. For any of these, note your current platform in the form and a specialist will tell you the realistic path, whether that's a fresh build or moving just the parts that do transfer, like a custom domain.
When to open a support ticket instead
If your GoDaddy account mixes multiple products, like a domain, an email plan, and hosting all under one login with different renewal dates, open a ticket with support before submitting the transfer form. A human can help you sequence the moves so you're not paying for overlapping service longer than necessary, and can flag anything about your specific GoDaddy setup that the standard form doesn't account for.
