Moving your website from Hostinger to Flashcloud

Last updated

IN SHORT

Flashcloud moves your website from Hostinger through our Free Transfer service. Submit your Hostinger hPanel login details in the portal, and our team copies your files, database, and email. Your existing site stays live on Hostinger until you update your DNS records to point to Flashcloud.

The fastest way to move off Hostinger is to let our team do it. Open Free Transfer in the portal sidebar, give us your Hostinger panel URL, username, and password, and our team copies your files, database, and email to Flashcloud. Your Hostinger site keeps serving visitors as long as your domain's DNS still points there.

This article covers what to hand over, how long it takes, and what happens to the Hostinger side of things once you're done. For the form fields themselves, see Requesting your Free Transfer, step by step.

What to send us from Hostinger

Hostinger accounts run on hPanel, not cPanel, so there's no cPanel login to hand over. What you give our team depends on how your site is built:

  • WordPress sites: the panel login covers files and the database. Add WordPress admin credentials in the notes if you have them handy.
  • Static sites or custom code: hPanel access plus FTP credentials if you have a separate FTP user set up. If you're not sure, hPanel login alone lets us find what we need.
  • Email hosted at Hostinger: mention this in the notes field on the transfer form, or manage the email cutover yourself on your own timeline if you'd rather keep it separate from the site transfer.

Don't type any of this into a ticket as plain text if you can help it. Your transfer request is sent directly to our engineers via the support ticket, but if you want extra care, note in the form that you'll send credentials separately, then use the secure share panel from a follow-up ticket. That panel lets you send a self-destructing, password-protected message that expires after a set number of days.

How long it takes and what stays live

Once the copy is done, check the migrated site before pointing your domain at Flashcloud. The old Hostinger version stays live until your DNS changes, so there is no rush.

Domain and nameservers

If your domain is registered at Hostinger and you're only moving hosting, you don't need to transfer the domain at all. You can update the domain's nameservers to point at Flashcloud once your migrated site is confirmed ready, while leaving registration where it is. If you'd rather move the domain itself to Flashcloud too, that's a separate process from the site transfer, covered under domain transfer-in in the portal's Marketplace section, and it adds a free year to whatever time is left on the registration. A domain moved to Flashcloud this way, or registered fresh with a new hosting plan, may also qualify for a free domain bundle - see Free domain with hosting.

After the move

Once your domain is pointed to Flashcloud and you've confirmed the site is working, it's good practice to change your Hostinger account password, especially if you shared it directly in a ticket. There's no reason to keep that login active with its original credentials once the migration is complete. For what to check and set up on the Flashcloud side once you're live, see Your first day with Flashcloud: a setup checklist.

If your Hostinger site used features that don't map directly to shared hosting, like a specific PHP extension or a scheduled task, open a support ticket once your site is confirmed ready and we'll sort out the equivalent setup before you cut over DNS.

Common questions

Will my site go down while you move it?

No. Your Hostinger site stays active for visitors as long as your domain DNS points there. You check the copied site on Flashcloud before making any DNS changes.

Do I have to transfer my domain to Flashcloud?

No. You can leave your domain registration at Hostinger and point its nameservers to Flashcloud once the transfer is ready.

Where do I find my cPanel details on Hostinger?

Hostinger does not use cPanel. Send your Hostinger hPanel URL, username, and password in the Free Transfer form.

What happens to my Hostinger emails?

Our team can copy them. Mention your Hostinger email in the transfer form notes, or manage the cutover yourself if you want to handle it separately.
