Free Transfer moves your site, database, and email from IONOS to Flashcloud: submit access through the portal, our team copies everything over, and your IONOS site keeps serving visitors while we work.
IONOS doesn't give you a clean single export, so the fastest path is handing our migration specialists access directly rather than trying to package up the site yourself.
What to share from your IONOS account
Open the Free Transfer form and fill in your destination domain, then for "current provider" pick IONOS and provide:
- IONOS control panel URL, username, and password (the customer login for your hosting package).
If your site has anything unusual worth flagging (a specific CMS, custom database setup, or anything you think the specialist should know before starting), add it to the notes field. Don't type a password into the form or the ticket itself: once the ticket is created, use the ticket's "Send a password (the safe way)" option to share it. That link encrypts on submit, stays private to staff, and self-destructs after 1-30 days.
What happens after you submit
A specialist gets assigned and starts copying your files, database, and email from IONOS to your Flashcloud service. Your domain still points at IONOS during this, so your site keeps running on IONOS while we copy everything over.
Once the copy is done, we only cut over to Flashcloud after confirming the migrated version looks and works right.
If your site uses email hosted on IONOS (rather than a separate provider like Google Workspace), mention that in the notes. Mail can move as part of the same transfer, or you can set it up ahead of time and sync separately if you want more control over the timing.
Don't lose money on unused IONOS time
IONOS bills in fixed terms, so if you're mid-contract when you move, you've likely got months left on a plan you're about to stop using. Before you cancel that IONOS plan, check whether you qualify for migration credit for unused hosting time and follow the steps in that article.
It's a separate thing from the free migration itself: the transfer moves your site, the credit offsets what you already paid IONOS for time you won't use there.
Domain still registered at IONOS
If IONOS is also your domain registrar and you want the domain itself to move to Flashcloud (not just point here), that's a separate step from the site transfer. Pull your transfer authorization code from the IONOS domain panel, then start the transfer from our side through Marketplace > Domains > Transfer, typing in the full domain and checking eligibility first. A transfer adds a free year to whatever time is left on the registration and includes WHOIS privacy. If you'd rather leave the domain registered with IONOS for now, open a ticket and we can talk through your options.
