Our Free Transfer service rebuilds your Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify site on WordPress on Flashcloud hosting, without you touching a line of code, and your old site stays live the whole time. Wix, Squarespace, and Shopify don't give you a database to export or files to download over FTP. They're closed platforms, so moving off one means rebuilding the site on WordPress (or another open platform) rather than copying files across.
What access to share
Since there's no panel login or database credentials to hand over on a closed platform, the Free Transfer form asks for a few things instead:
- Where the new site should go. A destination-domain picker on the form, plus who your current provider is.
- Panel access, if you can give it. A panel URL, username, and password for your current site let the specialist see content that isn't visible on the public site, such as draft pages, unpublished products, and backend settings.
- Anything platform-specific worth flagging in the notes field. A Shopify store's product catalog and order history, a members-only Wix area, a Squarespace store with subscriptions: call these out so the specialist knows what's involved before they start.
Don't paste passwords directly into the transfer form or a support ticket. Submit the request with the rest of the details, then send credentials separately through the secure share panel described in Requesting your Free Transfer, step by step.
What actually gets rebuilt
A platform move isn't a copy-paste. Wix and Squarespace store your site in their own proprietary format, and Shopify's product and order data lives in its own system, so none of that exports into WordPress directly. What the specialist does instead is recreate the site's structure, content, and design on WordPress, page by page, product by product, using your live site as the reference. If you sell products on Shopify, list every product category and any custom fields (size charts, variants, subscription options) in the notes field so the rebuild carries them over correctly. For more on how a WordPress site is handled once it's on Flashcloud, see migrating your WordPress site to Flashcloud.
What doesn't carry over automatically: platform-specific apps and their data. A Shopify app that handles loyalty points or a Wix booking widget won't have a WordPress equivalent installed by default. Point this out up front and the specialist can look for a comparable WordPress plugin, but treat any third-party app as something to plan for separately rather than assume it will appear on the new site.
How long it takes and what stays live
Rebuilding a site from scratch on a new platform takes longer than copying files between two WordPress installs. Either way, your old site keeps serving visitors at Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify the entire time. There's no window where your site is down or half-migrated in public. For the general shape of this process outside the platform-specific details, see your first day with Flashcloud: a setup checklist.
Get credit for time you already paid for
If you're mid-subscription on a Wix Premium plan, a Squarespace annual plan, or Shopify's monthly billing, that's money already spent. See migration credit for unused hosting time for whether a credit applies to your situation.
One thing to plan around: don't cancel your Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify subscription until the new site is live and confirmed working.
When to open a ticket
Once you've submitted the Free Transfer form, the migration specialist handles the back-and-forth through the support ticket the form creates. If your Shopify store, Squarespace site, or Wix account has something unusual (a custom domain email setup, a members area with paid subscriptions, an app with data that needs to survive the move), mention it in the ticket rather than waiting to see if it gets missed. Support tickets go through the portal, and a real person picks it up, not a queue.
