To move a domain from Hostinger to Flashcloud, unlock it and get its EPP code from your Hostinger hPanel first, then start the transfer from your Flashcloud account under Marketplace > Domains > Transfer one in. Flashcloud checks eligibility, adds a free year to the domain's remaining registration, and includes WHOIS privacy at no extra cost.
Step 1: Unlock the domain at Hostinger
Hostinger locks domains by default to stop unauthorized transfers. You need to turn that off before any registrar can pull the domain out.
- Log in to hPanel.
- Go to Domains and select the domain you're moving.
- Find the domain's overview or settings screen and look for the transfer lock toggle (Hostinger sometimes calls it "Domain lock" or shows it in a "Transfer domain" panel).
- Switch it off.
The exact wording and location shift as Hostinger updates hPanel, so if you don't see it on the domain's main page, check the "Advanced" or "Transfer" tab. Hostinger's own help docs are the fastest way to confirm current wording if the layout doesn't match this.
Step 2: Get the EPP code and confirm your contact email
From the same domain settings area in hPanel, request the EPP code (also called an authorization code or transfer code). Hostinger typically emails it to the domain's registrant contact rather than displaying it on screen, so check that inbox. Also confirm that email address is one you can still access. If you've had WHOIS privacy on at Hostinger, the confirmation and any transfer approval messages route through that address, and a stale or unreachable inbox is the most common reason transfers stall.
Also check that the domain isn't newly registered or recently transferred - registries commonly restrict transfers for a period after either event. Confirm with Hostinger before starting if you're not sure.
If the domain is close to expiring, renew it at Hostinger before starting the transfer. A transfer that doesn't complete before expiry can get complicated, and starting the countdown with more runway avoids the issue entirely.
Step 3: Set up DNS before you transfer
If you want your site or email to keep working without a gap, point DNS at Flashcloud before the transfer finishes. See Pointing your domain to your hosting account for the current nameserver and A-record instructions. Doing this early means DNS doesn't go dark while the transfer is in progress.
Step 4: Start the transfer from Flashcloud
With the domain unlocked and EPP code in hand:
- Sign in to your Flashcloud account and go to Marketplace > Domains.
- Click Transfer one in (also reachable from Domains > Transfer).
- Type the full domain name and click Check eligibility.
- Follow the prompts to complete the transfer; keep the EPP code from Hostinger handy, since every registrar transfer needs it.
Flashcloud adds a free year to whatever registration time the domain has left, and WHOIS privacy is included automatically once the transfer lands. For the general mechanics after this point, which happen between Hostinger and the registry, see Transferring a domain away from Flashcloud, which covers the same flow from the other direction.
What to expect after you submit
Hostinger and Flashcloud both email the domain's WHOIS contact to confirm the transfer. Depending on the registry and registrar, approval may require clicking a confirmation link, or it may go through automatically if nobody objects within the standard waiting period. When it completes, the domain shows up in your Flashcloud Domains list. See Unlocking a domain for transfer if you ever need to move it again later.
If Hostinger won't unlock or won't release the EPP code
If Hostinger doesn't offer a self-serve unlock option or is withholding the EPP code without cause, raise it with Hostinger support directly. Registrars operate under ICANN transfer policies that limit how long they can withhold these, so their support team should be able to resolve it.
When to contact support
If the eligibility check fails, the EPP code gets rejected, or the transfer sits in a pending state longer than expected, open a ticket from your Flashcloud portal under Support.
