Transferring a domain from Porkbun to Flashcloud

To move a domain from Porkbun to Flashcloud, unlock it and grab the EPP code from your Porkbun dashboard, then start the transfer from our side: go to Marketplace, click Domains, choose Transfer one in, type the full domain name, and click Check eligibility. If the domain qualifies, continue with the remaining steps shown on screen to complete the transfer.

The transfer adds a free year to whatever time is left on the registration, and WHOIS privacy is included at no charge once it lands in your account. The whole thing is the standard ICANN transfer process underneath, so the mechanics match what's described in transferring a domain away from Flashcloud, run in the other direction.

Step 1: Unlock the domain at Porkbun

Porkbun locks domains by default to block unauthorized transfers, the same reasoning covered in unlocking a domain for transfer. To release it:

1. Sign in to your Porkbun account.
2. Open the domain from your domain list.
3. Find the registrar lock (Porkbun labels it a transfer lock) toggle on the domain's overview panel and switch it off.

Porkbun's interface changes from time to time, so if the toggle isn't where you expect, search their help center for "transfer lock" rather than relying on a fixed screenshot.

Step 2: Get the EPP code (authorization code)

Porkbun calls this the authorization code. It's on the same domain overview page, usually as a button to reveal or email the code. Copy it somewhere safe. If your account has WHOIS privacy or two-factor authentication enabled at Porkbun, you may need to confirm your identity before the code is shown.

A couple of things worth checking before you leave Porkbun:

• A domain registered or transferred very recently may not be eligible yet under ICANN rules, regardless of registrar.
• If the domain is close to expiring, renew it at Porkbun first. A domain that expires mid-transfer can stall the process.
• Confirm the contact email on file at Porkbun is one you actually check. The losing registrar sends a transfer confirmation there, and if it goes unanswered the transfer can time out.

Step 3: Start the transfer at Flashcloud

Once you have the unlock and the EPP code, come back to your Flashcloud account:

1. Go to Marketplace in the sidebar.
2. Click Domains, then Transfer one in (you'll also find a Transfer entry point under Domains).
3. Type the complete domain name and click Check eligibility.
4. If eligible, continue with the remaining steps shown on screen.

DNS before you transfer

If the domain is pointing at hosting or email that needs to keep working, set up DNS at Flashcloud before the transfer completes, not after. See pointing your domain to your hosting account for the nameserver and A record options. Doing this ahead of time avoids a gap where the domain resolves nowhere.
