Submit a Free Transfer request from the portal and our migration team moves your site over for you. Your site keeps running on ScalaHosting while we copy it.
What access to share
Open the Free Transfer form in the portal sidebar under Goodies. It asks for your destination domain, your current provider, and panel access. For a ScalaHosting account, give our migration team your panel URL, username, and password, or your WordPress admin login if that's easier for us to work from.
Whatever you send goes into the support ticket the form creates. If you'd rather not type a password into a form field, use the ticket's secure password-share option instead, which self-destructs after a set number of days. What stays live during the move
We copy your site's files and database from ScalaHosting while it keeps serving traffic there, so your visitors aren't affected during the copy itself.
If you paid ahead on ScalaHosting
If you've got prepaid time left on your ScalaHosting plan, that's not automatically wasted. This is separate from the free transfer itself: the transfer moves your site, the credit is a billing adjustment for time you already paid for elsewhere. Moving a domain registered through ScalaHosting
If your domain is also registered with ScalaHosting (rather than just hosted there), that's a separate process from the site transfer: a domain transfer moves the registration itself between registrars. If you register a new domain with your Flashcloud hosting order instead of transferring your existing one, check whether it qualifies for the free-domain-for-life bundle before you decide which route makes more sense for your situation.
Moving off Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify instead
The mechanics above are specific to accounts with real file and database access, which is how ScalaHosting (and any standard host) works. Wix, Squarespace, and Shopify are closed platforms: there's no control panel login or database to hand over, because your site doesn't live on a server you can access directly. Moving off one of those means exporting or rebuilding your content rather than copying files, so the Free Transfer form and this process don't apply the same way. If you're coming from one of those platforms, mention it in your ticket notes so our team can advise on the right path for your situation.
When to open a ticket directly
If your ScalaHosting site runs something unusual, custom cron jobs, a non-WordPress framework, an app with external API dependencies, mention that in the notes field on the Free Transfer form or open a ticket before submitting. The more our team knows about what's actually running before they start, the fewer round-trips it takes to get your migrated site looking right.
