What to have ready before you submit the form
WP Engine's control panel is different from a standard cPanel host, so the access you hand over looks a little different too. On the Free Transfer form, set the destination to the domain or hosting service on your Flashcloud account you want this site to land on, and for "current provider" note that it is WP Engine.
- Your WP Engine panel URL, username, and password, so the specialist can log in and confirm the right environment before starting.
- Notes on anything environment-specific: mention any caching plugin, page builder, or other setup detail that could affect the move, so the specialist knows what to check.
Do not paste the WP Engine password into the form field itself if you would rather not.
What stays live and what changes
WP Engine keeps serving your domain and email as normal while the specialist copies your files and database to Flashcloud. The domain gets pointed here once the copy is confirmed.
You gain WordPress running on our own stack, including LiteSpeed Cache and Redis object cache pre-configured on the new install, plus a free domain if you registered one with your Flashcloud hosting.
Email is a separate decision. If WP Engine was never hosting your mailboxes, you likely already have mail running elsewhere and nothing changes there. If you do need to move mailboxes as part of this switch, mention that in the notes field so the specialist can help you plan the timing.
Credit for unused WP Engine time
If you paid WP Engine in advance and have months left on that term, that is separate from the free transfer itself. Full details are in migration credit for unused hosting time.
Moving from Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify instead
The form and the "old site stays live until cutover" mechanics are identical whether you're coming from WP Engine or a platform like Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify. The difference is what access to hand over, since these platforms don't work the same way as a standard host. Mention which platform you're moving from in the notes field so the right specialist picks up the ticket.
If something looks off after the move
If the moved site is missing a plugin or a page builder isn't rendering right, don't try to patch it yourself first. Reply on the same migration ticket in the portal under Support.
