When your hosting is suspended, your websites stop serving traffic and your email stops sending and receiving. Nothing is deleted at this stage: your files, databases, and mailboxes are all still there, switched off from the outside world. Pay the overdue invoice from Billing and reactivation follows once payment is confirmed.
What stops immediately
- Websites. Visitors hit a generic suspension or error page instead of your site. This applies to every domain, subdomain, and addon domain on the account, not just the primary one.
- Email delivery. Mail sent to your addresses starts bouncing back to the sender, and you can't send new mail out through webmail or a desktop client. Mail already delivered before suspension stays in your mailboxes, but nothing new arrives.
What's preserved
Suspension pauses the account, it doesn't touch the contents. Your files, databases, email messages, and DNS records all remain exactly as they were. Once the invoice is paid, everything comes back the way you left it, no reinstall or restore needed. This is a deliberate separation: suspension protects against unpaid usage without punishing you by destroying work. See why accounts get suspended for more on how suspension is handled.
Why this happens
Suspension is most often triggered by an unpaid renewal invoice, usually because a saved card failed to charge and nobody caught it in time. A smaller number are terms-of-service issues, which follow their own notification process. Either way, the account isn't singled out arbitrarily.
How long you have
Suspension isn't the final word. The fastest path back is paying the outstanding invoice from Billing, which clears the way for sites and mail to come back online. See why accounts get suspended for what happens if a suspension goes unresolved.
If your DNS points elsewhere
If your domain's nameservers point to a third party but the site itself is hosted with us, the domain keeps resolving normally, but requests reaching our servers will still hit the suspension page.
When to contact support
If you've paid the invoice and your site or email is still down shortly after, or if you're not sure why the account was suspended in the first place, open a ticket from the portal. Support is real people, not a bot, and can check the exact suspension reason on your account and clear anything that didn't reactivate.
