If you have active hosting or a domain with us, you can request a free website from the portal in about five minutes. Go to Free Website under Goodies in the sidebar, and work through four steps: business details, website setup, design, and review. Submitting creates a ticket that a real person picks up, not an automated build.
This article covers the wizard itself. For eligibility rules and what our team actually builds, see get a free website built for you.
Step 1: Business
First, pick which domain the site should go on from the domain picker. This determines where the finished site gets deployed if you choose the live option in step 2.
Then fill in:
- Business or site name, exactly as you want it to appear.
- Type, chosen from: Local business, Portfolio/personal, Blog/publication, SaaS/product, Non-profit, or Something else.
- Phone number, optional. Add it if you want it displayed on the site, for example in a footer or contact block.
The type field steers the layout and tone our team uses for the build, so pick the closest match even if it's not a perfect fit. "Something else" is fine if none of the categories describe what you're building.
Step 2: Website
This step has two decisions:
- Site type: single-page or multi-page.
- Deploy target: where the finished site goes once it's built.
If you choose Publish live, the finished site goes straight onto the domain you picked in step 1, replacing whatever is there now. Think about which domain you selected before picking it. If you'd rather nothing public changes until you've seen the build, pick the deploy choice that keeps the current site untouched, and you'll still get a version to review before anything goes live.
Step 3: Design
Pick an accent color for the site. This is the one visual input the wizard asks for directly. Anything more specific, like a logo, brand colors beyond the accent, tone of voice, or reference sites you like, can go on the ticket after you submit; a team member follows up with clarifying questions anyway.
Step 4: Review
The last step shows everything you entered across steps 1 through 3. Check the domain, business details, site type, deploy target, and accent color, then submit.
Submitting turns the request into a ticket in our Free Website department. You'll get a confirmation, and you can track progress the same way you'd track any other ticket: from Support in the portal. A team member gets assigned, may follow up with clarifying questions, and sends you a version to review once it's built.
If this is your first request with us
If you're brand new to Flashcloud and haven't set up your account yet, it's worth working through your first day with Flashcloud: a setup checklist first. It covers pointing your domain and the account basics that make the Free Website request smoother, since the wizard assumes you already have a domain or hosting service to attach the site to.
